Frequently asked questions finally answered.
How do I connect to sessions?
There are two ways to join in to the conference. Be on the lookout for a Zoom Webinar email with the link to the live stream each day. If for some reason that message gets filtered or blocked, just click on the “JOIN LIVE” tab of the website where you will enter your name and e-mail and get connected in.
Do I need to download Zoom?
Yes. Before joining a Zoom meeting on a computer or mobile device, you can download the app from the Zoom Download Center. Otherwise, you will be prompted to download and install Zoom when you click your first link to join a session. You can also join a test meeting to familiarize yourself with Zoom. For more information on Zoom, you click here for a “Getting started FAQ”.
What if I can’t connect or am having technical issues?
If you have any technical issues throughout the conference, please email us at support@vov30.com. We’re here to help.
Where can I find out more about the conference?
Everything you are going to need for the conference can be easily found on our official conference website: vov30.com
When is the conference actually happening? Which week did I register for?
Your one registration covers the entire conference: all 6 days; all 23 sessions:
· Week #1: (Tues-Thur) July 14, 15 and 16
· Week #2: (Tues-Thur) July 21, 22 and 23
How do I get my PD CERTIFICATE for Victory over Violence?
In order to get professional development credit for attending the conference you need to fill out two different types of evaluations. First, you must fill out an evaluation for each session you watch and hit “Submit.” There is a separate evaluation for each session. Links to these forms are found on the Evaluation tab in the top right corner of the Victory over Violence website: www.vov30.com . We strongly recommend completing these as you go.
(The evaluations are Google Docs, so if you have any trouble accessing them, try using your smartphone with Wi-Fi turned off.)
At the end of each week, we will send a confirmation email (one for each session) to every person who has completed an evaluation for that session. You will receive one email for each evaluation you have completed. If you watched a session and you don’t get a confirmation email for it (from dfrysctraining@gmail.com), just return to the Evaluation tab of the website and complete that sessions’ evaluation. As an additional follow-up, we will send a similar round of confirmation e-mails the Wednesday after the conference. Just add up the emails and compare to your records to make sure you didn’t miss any.
The archived sessions and evaluation forms will be available through the end of July. On August 1st, the evaluations will be turned off and all information will be compiled. All participation data: the list of attendees, participation analytics, and the evaluations completed will be sent to our partner MTS for processing. These are the folks who help us with the scanning and certificates when we have in-person VOV. MTS will then send a final Overall Conference Evaluation. Once you complete this final evaluation, you will get your official 2020 Victory over Violence certificate that will list the FRYSC training approval code and information about Child Care and Social Work CEUs. At this time, we have CEUs approved for Child Care; Social Work is currently pending approval.
What can I do if I miss a session I was hoping to see?
All sessions will be recorded and made available in the “Instant Replay/Archives” tab of the website. You can watch sessions there through the end of July and still receive full credit.
How many sessions am I supposed to attend?
· Attend at least 6 sessions (8 hours) to meet the state conference attendance requirement
· Further, count up to 12 sessions (15 hours) towards the 24 hour professional development requirement for the 2020/2021 training year.
You are welcome to attend more, and with all the great offerings, we can easily understand why you might want to try to see them all. The deadline for PD credit is the end of July so you’ll have a full week after the conference to view any sessions you might have missed and still get credit for them.
How do I get my official PD credit?
There is a section on the website for Evaluations where you are asked to complete a quick survey for each session you attend. It is important that you fill out an evaluation for each session you attend. We greatly value your feedback AND this is how you get credit for individual sessions (either live or by recording). Deadline for completing evaluations for the sessions you attend is the end of July.
Will I be able to get Continuing Education Credits (CEUs)?
We have applied and been approved for Childcare CEUs.
We have also applied for Social Work CEUs and have heard back favorably, but we do not have an official approval code yet.
If you would like to apply for credits through any other additional networks, please contact melissa.newton@ky.gov or greg.gunn@ky.gov and we will be happy to provide you with the information you may need.
I am going to miss networking with other coordinators from around the state.
Ok, that’s not really a question, but it’s a sentiment we definitely understand and share. A bit of good news on this front; the next to last session will be a virtual roundtable of breakout sessions to encourage collaboration with folks from across the Commonwealth. Come ready with ideas and questions as we all prepare for the uncertainties ahead in the 2020-2021 school year.
Who is VidMonster Productions?

What’s all the baseball stuff all about?
This year, our conference theme is Celebrating 30 Years of Going to Bat for Kentucky’s Kids. As such, we’re heading out to the virtual ballpark for 6 days of great live action. We hope you enjoy our baseball spin on what is looking like an exciting time filled with lots of great learning.
